प्रजेचे गीत

Some months ago my friend Tj and I were lamenting the complete absence of any Indian language versions of the famous song Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Miserables. We would be very happy to be corrected.
Here is my rather lame attempt at a Marathi version.

ऐकता प्रजेचे गीत पेटल्या चहू दिशा

भिडता गगनी स्वर हे भंगली गुलामीची निशा

स्पंदने दिलांची या एकताल आपुली

उद्याच्या जिंदगीची दारे हो खुली

स्वातंत्र्यसंगरी लढण्या सज्ज ही पिढी

एकजूटीने शिखरी उंचवू गुढी

जिण्याच्या हक्काच्या संग्रामी अमुची उडी

ऐकता प्रजेचे गीत...

सर्वस्व अर्पूया मग पिळोनिया उरा

रक्त गाळुनी अपुले सिंचवू धरा

प्राणांची आहुती देण्याची आम्हा त्वरा
