Desolations

Floods of darkness
Descended upon me
Breaking the embankments of my heart
They eclipsed the skies
A tidal wave leapt up
And shattered the heavens into smithereens
Sinking the stars and
Washing away the helpless moon
Left now is a lifeless light,
Barren desolations,
And wandering through them, Insanity
Staring back at you with haunting eyes
